Does eating moldy bread do you any harm?

Question: I didn't mean to eat it. I am half way through my lunch.

Answer: It can. Mold has many kinds of poisons to keep bacteria away (molds are fungae). But there are many different strains of molds. They all infect different types of substances. Ordinary white bread, made out of plain old wheatflower, are mostly infected by ordinary green molds. I have also eaten such moldy bread (by accident) and not gotten sick. Molds that eat rye can be more dangerous though. Also alot of people can be allergic to all molds even the more harmless ones. Then again there are those that love to eat moldy cheese...
