Soap making?

Question: I really want to do this. Im 14 and this look really interesting? Anybody know any recipes, that are for a hard bar of soap? Thanks

Answer: First, get the basic material's you'll need to make soap. The most important is a soap base, I use a glycerin base I get at Michael's. There are a lot of varieties to the soap base, like clear, opaque, avocado base, and "suspension" base, which suspends additives like petals or lemon rinds mid-soap. You'll also want soap dye, which comes in liquid or powder; fragrance; a mold; and possibly some additives such as lemon rinds. All of these are available at craft stores and online. Basically, you cut the soap base into bricks, melt them (I use the microwave), and stir in the color, scent, and additives. Then, pour the mixture into the mold, but not too fast or you'll get air bubbles. Then wait about 45 minutes for it to cool off, you can put it in the fridge if you'd like. when it's hardened, apply pressure with your thumbs to the bottom of each mold. (This may hurt after awhile). Keep rubbing and applying pressure until an air bubble forms, and rub starting from that bubble each time to expand it until eventually, your soap pops out! Wrap them in plastic wrap until ready to use. For creative ideas and more tutorials, go to http://www.craftster.org or http://www.craftbits.com .
