scioto river?

Question: hi i recently fished by berlinger park in columbus ohio at scioto river off the shore and wanted some advice. how should i fish the river if i am going for small smouth bass or whatever is easiest to catch off the shore by the baseball fields at scioto river. pls give me tips on how to fish off shore and what to use

Answer: Our group fishes the Scioto all the time, just north of berliner park theres a low head dam, look for the rocks off the dam and spot "slow" spots behind them. Use a bobber about two or three feet above the hook, i recommend a # 4 and use Nightcrawlers. you Will catch White bass, saugeye, rock bass, Large Mouth, few Small Mouth are present due to the turbulance of the water and the "stained" color of the water. At night fish the bottom with a # 1 hook baited with nightcrawlers, and you will catch some nice Bullheads, Catfish, and Carp.......good Luck and Great Fishing
