CERAMICS, please help!?

Question: Why is clay better old than new?

Answer: The particles in the clay have had a chance to absorb more water (if kept wet), making the clay more plastic (it can handle more stress--stretching from the inside on a potter's wheel, for example). The mold thing can be another reason. I know that some potters allow their clay to mold--then they wedge it very well before using it. I had clay get moldy once--smelled really bad.
