how to get rid of contamination?

Question: in injection molding, i have a two cavity hot runner mold getting contamination in same cavity, same spot. how do i fix this?

Answer: Do you have a build up of mold release? Very careful cleaning of the area in question. Perhaps bead blast the mold. Check for hot spots are you burning the plastic? Bad heater? How is the polish in the bad area? What does the surface of the bad area look like in the mold? Is the mold discolored or has the metal lost temper? Are the runners symmetrical? The material should flow into both cavities at the same rate for the results to be the same. The runners may need cleaning.
