how do you hang foamboard on a wall like a picture frame?

Question: this weekend ill be putting 8x10 photos on foamboard for a friend for her apt. but what do you put on the back so it can hang on the wall?

Answer: Double-stick tape will be most effective, if she does not mind that it will most likely take the paint off her walls... Otherwise, some sort of adhesive tack putty (Elmer's makes one) will not ruin the walls. It should work well for something as light as foamcore, but may be less effective for heavier pieces. If she doesn't want to do an adhesive on her wall at all (and wants to hang it "like a picture frame") ... try cutting a piece of twine approx. the width of the pic, and taping/gluing it on both ends, horizontally on the back of the pic... then you and she can hang it from a wall tack or nail (or two for straightness/steadiness). Nail holes are easier to fill in than peeled paint! For a little different look, she could always use a color-coordinated ribbon, attach each end to the top corners of the pic, and hang with the ribbon... You may even let the ends of the ribbon hang below the pic in an upside-down V (almost like an easel)... Just a thought... Good luck! Sounds like you've got a really creative project going on... I'm sure it will turn out great!
